Different things is a video artwork in which I select various objects on display in my home and discuss them with my family.
The audio comprises condensed aspects of our discussion and ambient recordings taken fromrooms around the house.
This piece invites the audience into the home and into a position of relative intimacy during the discussion which weighs
personal, familiar and social contexts against one another.

The video element consists of footage taken within the home on a family video camera. Frequently using an angular and
restricted field of view, these shots linger on items shown and question our recognition that wherever a frame is revealing
and protecting something, the frame simultaneously reflects and reveals its surroundings.
